Fantastic new tutorials out this week! Here is a review on our selection but don’t forget to check us out in Tutorial-Index.com for many more tutorials that meet your specific needs.

One of our regular collaborating authors has sent us a very original tutorial. With Photoshop they have taken apart a microscope and have Designed a Prototype Mosquito with Microscope Parts. The process and result is great, really worth giving it a try and letting your imagination go with other possible metamorphosis.

Another great and original tutorial is How To Design a Flying Elephant with Photoshop, the result is certainly more sophisticated that Dumbo, actually it is quite surrealist and artistic.

Smoky Eyes are in fashion, so how about being able to create a smoky eye effect with Photoshop? Pretty cool wouldn’t in? This tutorial teaches you How To Create a Smoky Eye Make Up Effect the technique and in a very simple manner. Have fun doing the right make up retouches in your pictures!

We are big fans of video tutorials and in this case the author teaches us How to Create Day and Night Lights Effect with 3D Studio Max. A great way to learn and experiment.

We also recommend this week a website design tutorial, in this case How to Design Website Menu with Photoshop.

Have fun!

This week’s post will be dedicated to website design and optimization. We have received a few very good tutorials that step by step give you tips and ideas on how to design a website from zero. So let’s begin…

Our first step is designing the website with this tutorial on How to Create a Clean, Minimal Website Design in Photoshop. The outcome is very crisp and visual; it is a good starting point to then personalize your own website and design.

Second step is to highlight the important information on your website, either news or special prices:

You can highlight information in your website with this tutorial on How to Design Classic Website Context Boxes with Photoshop. Very useful and easy to match to your website colour combination.

If you were thinking of selling goods or services, you will need to inform your visitors of your prices and promotions, this tutorial teaches How to Design an Effective Pricing Table using Photoshop.

Third step, and a very important one to consider is creating an effective website that takes no time to upload, this tutorial gives you some tips, 11 Ways to Cut Down on Server Load of Your Website.

Last but not least, today no website is complete without a Blog, we recommend for you this 5 Step Tutorial – How to Start a WordPress Blog.

We hope these tutorials are useful and that you are successful in your website design. The best of luck!

Digital Arts has sent us great material and we would like to highlight two of their tutorials.

One is how to Create a Colourful and Vibrant 3D Quirky Image with Illustrator. The result is great, very original and an organized chaos of colour and shapes that you can marvel at and learn from.

The other tutorial uses Master Custom Brushes in Photoshop. The image result is very modern and shows how you can obtain brilliant results using customized Photoshop brushes and photomontage techniques.

Another very colourful design is this one that teaches how to Colour Your Artwork Using Actions in Photoshop. The author begins from her own design on paper which is the scanned and coloured in Photoshop. Great result with fantastic colours.

We have also received two very good tutorials on webdesign, from different authors, a good exercise for you to learn and practice different techniques.

One of the designs is a Clean and Minimalist Layout on Photoshop.

The other design teaches how to Create a Blog Website Design in Photoshop.

Take note that this is our selection, according to your personal needs you will find different tutorials for different programs and different actions in our website tutorial-index.com.

This week we begin with a very useful effect; how to create a landscape change effect with Photoshop. To fully understand what this means I recommend you check the tutorial and see how this designer has successfully applied this concept to a photograph. The end result is great, I can think of various images on which I could apply this to.

This new comer has sent us a great tutorial on how to create a portfolio website design with photoshop. The explanations are very detailed and the design is simple and functional, any person venturing into their first website design would definitely want to check out this step by step tutorial.

Design a Business Man Mascot with Photoshop, this is a fun tutorial that starts from a hand drawn design. The tutorial takes you through the steps of creating your mascot; in this case a business man dressed to the detail and a big welcoming smile.

We also have a tutorial that starts from zero and creates an image of stacked up number blocks with 3dsMax. It is a good tutorial to practice perspectives, lines and design.

Our last tutorial for the week, last in line because it is not related to design but just as good and very useful, how to fix a system restore that is not working in Windows 7.

Hope you enjoy!

The book jumps straight into the practicality of the subject so you must have experience in this field if you want to get out the most from it.

It is a perfect recommendation for architects and architecture students. Its shows you step by step and in a very clear manner how to render architectural scenes using mental ray in 3ds Max. Programs in general are quite difficult to get a hang of and there always seems to be a point of frustration with all books, this particular book tries to tackle these feelings by using a lot of images and all sorts of marks that will help you follow through the examples with success and a smile, or at least without a frown.

We hope you enjoy it and find it useful!

Using Adobe Illustrator one of our members has sent us a tutorial on How to Draw a Cute Santa. The result is indeed very cute and it will look great on your season greetings e-cards to friends and family.

Placing many presents under the tree? Well how about designing and personalizing your gift tags? This Photoshop Tutorial takes you step by step to Design Christmas Gift Name Tags, no need to buy them anymore you can use your imagination to design your own. A fun and very personal touch that your loved ones will cherish and greatly appreciate.

The following Tutorials are not Christmas oriented but we think that you can choose your own themes and use seasonal photos to play around with these very cool effects.

This tutorial teaches you how to Create a Cool Effect on your photos, in this case the photo is of a model. But how about playing with your most cherished photographs and using this effect to greet friends and family in this holiday season?

In Photoshop we are taught how to do a Signature Creation from your favorite picture. The example used here is from Star Wars but you can use whichever theme you prefer to a snowed scenery, a Christmas card, or a family picture. Personalize your signature this Christmas!

Last but not least, is our Top Tutorial of the Week: How to Create a Modern Vintage Concept Design in Photoshop. A very studied and well though out tutorial, even though the theme is not Christmas we had to give them the prize. I hope you agree with us and enjoy it as much as we did.

All are very well explained and easy to follow, for different levels of difficulty. I hope you enjoy them as much as we have!

Fantasy taken to its maximum level, we love how this author has created a fantasy scene with mystery and action using Photoshop CS5: Fantasy Scene of a Sorceress and a Tree Monster . Absolutely love how real bit and pieces of trees have been used to create this very real effect. Our favourite of the week!

Is it not awful when you go to a great city for tourism and the day is gloomy and cloudy? Your photos of great historical buildings loose impact with shadows and low lighting. Today we present you with a very easy to follow tutorial on how to Lightening Shadows in Photoshop. Now all you can regain the colour from your photos and eliminate dark colours from shadows or cloudy days.

Another fantasy setting we loved this week is done with Photoshop in this case the creator plays around with the photo of a girl and creates a whole fantasy scene around her. How to create an Enchanted Forest Around An Image is another favourite of the week, we hope it gets your imagination going and you can create enchanted settings to your favourite photos.

This Photoshop setting is more modern and related to music; it brings you back to pop art and comes up with a very playful mixture of colours that will give you great inspirational ideas. This tutorial on How to Create a Music Concept Design in Photoshop will get all of you into a very creative mood and maybe even some fun ideas for invitations to parties?

The final tutorial we would like to recommend for you this week is one that shows you in a very simple step by step manner how to Make an Elegant Text Style.

We hope you enjoy these recommendations! And as usual don’t be shy you are more than welcome to share with us your creations on Facebook.

This week our “Best tutorial of the week” Award goes to Blue_Chi for the excellent tutorial on how to use the swipe gesture in Flash mobile applications using ActionScript 3 so that the user can execute a command by swiping his finger across the screen. This feature is supported by every iPhone app created using Flash.

2. Second place is for Daddy Design and their great tutorial that shows how to make digital 8-bit style corners using only CSS. The result is beautiful quick rendering 8-bit style corners requiring zero images. There is only one drawback to using this method: you must use a solid color background in your design.

3. An interesting tutorial from PolygonBlog on how to deal with character rigging in 3D animation takes the third place this week. Character rigging means the process of preparing the character for animation. In this tutorial you’ll learn the basics of using the Morpher and Skin modifiers to manipulate and deform a simple character in 3ds Max 2011.

4. The next place is for Chris and his “Create Quiz in PowerPoint” tutorial. One of Chris’ passions is to add value to each of the presentations that he does during a senior management meeting. In this tutorial he explains how to make an effective and a killer presentation by adding quiz questions and answers in your business presentation.

5. Finally, we have a bunch of SEO tutorials and tips for you. Follow them to get all competitor links using Scrapebox or to get your images indexed by Google Images.
Marty Eveningn the author is himself a professional photographer and an experienced writer in the subject of Photoshop. The book is like an encyclopaedia on Photoshop, it guides you through all aspects of the software, don’t expect to read it in one go, it is a guide and will be most useful when you have a picture in mind and an idea of what you would like to do with it. We hope you find our recommendation interesting, “Adobe Photoshop CS5 for Photographers: a professional image editor’s guide to the creative use of Photoshop for the Macintosh and PC”, is a very handy resource to have on your bookshelf.

Every week we choose the best tutorials to reward the authors and give their tutorials more visibility, so that you can’t miss them. Here are our favorites from last week.

I. “Top Tutorial of the Week” award goes to Ainsley Bevis for showing how to design, slice and code your own Photoshop layout in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. There is a complementary tutorial, also by Ainsly, that will teach you how to design the layout for this lesson.

II. “Create Professional Blog Layout Design Using Photoshop”, by Anupama Rao, tutorial takes second place this week. Simple, fast and very useful.

III. For the Drupal enthusiasts, we have “How to Create A Drupal Views (Grid Style)” tutorial that comes in third place. On his personal blog, R Hutagaol has quite a few interesting Drupal tutorials. This time he explains to you how to display contents with Views with Grid style.

IV. 4th place goes to Adriana for a unique Steampunk-ish concept design. In her tutorial, “How to create a Modern Heart Concept in Photoshop”, instead of the rusty and old look, Adriana uses cleaner and shinier elements. She also makes use of nature elements, vectors and some brushes.

V. Nisha Gandhi takes 5th place this week for her new tutorial “How to Make an Iceberg and a COOL Text”. Check out the amazing results Nisha achieved in Bryce 5.5.

Looking at this beautiful underwater scene would you say it is created entirely from a simple picture of… a stethoscope?! Creating such an attractive image requires not only extraordinary creativity but also great Photoshop skills. In case you are not so advanced in PS as Cornelia, the author of this amazing tutorial that wins our “Top Tutorial of the Week” award, she gives you a detailed explanation on how to achieve such an amazing result. It’s a 41 steps tutorial(!) but it is definitely worth your time to follow it carefully from the beginning to the very end.

Another example of original and creative use of Photoshop we received last week is a “How to Mix Hand Drawing Sketch With Photo” tutorial that shows how to use sketch and combine it with a real picture in PS. As a result you will get a very unique and fantastic effect. Some drawing skills will be needed here… but, hey, who said creating digital art is only question of having basic skills in using your mouse and keyboard?

We also recommend you two very useful Flash tutorials by Blue_Chi, both on how to use ActionScript 3 to make the most of some latest mobile devices’ features. The first one will teach you how to use the geolocation sensor of a smartphone to retrieve the geographical position of the user. Thanks to the second tutorial you will learn how to use the accelerometer sensor in your Android and iPhone mobile Flash projects. These are just the must-to-know for any mobile app developer.

Enjoy all these fantastic tutorials and remember that these are just a few of our favourite this week; you can find a lot lot more at Tutorial-Index.com.

You are going to have a lot of fun letting go of your creativity this week, Tutorial-Index.com has selected for you four Photoshop Tutorials that guide you to create extraordinary effects with a most professional result. Detailed step by step Tutorials of superior quality which you really cannot afford to miss out on!

Create electrifying effects around an image with this very detailed and well explained tutorial which will take you step by step to end up with a top quality photograph with professional looking effects.

Another amazing tutorial which plays with various images to Create a fantastic surreal representation of time, the result is very Dali like, I was absolutely mind blown with this one.

We also recommend two other tutorials that you must start from scratch, with these your drawing skills will be put to test.

Learn how to design a fantastic Wallpaper of a mother a baby turtle, the way they manage to create a great light effect in the water is fantastic, a great tutorial that you can apply to many other creative ideas.

We have also received the last version of the Roman House tutorial, it finishes off with a step by step guide on how to draw a Roman lady wearing a tunic. It is very well explained and although it may seem complicated at first once you get the hang of it you will in no time be drawing Romans in chariots!

We sincerely hope you enjoy this selection, as always don’t be shy; we would love to hear from you and your experience when trying these tutorials.

Have fun!

This week we have had a series of interesting tutorials come in, I will give you a selection of our favorites, we have limited space but there are many more tutorials online so feel free to browse Tutorial-Index.com and find what suits your needs best.

I love this tutorial that takes you step by step on how to Reveal an Image with your Mouse, a great technique that is fun and useful, will keep your friends and followers in suspense ad they try to figure out what image they are about to see.

I also like this tutorial that teaches you how to Animate an Image Along a Path, in this case they have used a teapot, and I can imagine the effect to be very cool once it has been applied to your final work. Check it out, great to play with and create different paths for objects to move around in.

This is a simple tutorial and quite a classical one, some of you may take it as a given but others may not; how to Erase Tattoos with Photoshop perfect technique to erase tattoos or imperfections which you may not wish to reveal in your photos.

Halloween is on the 31st of October, only two months to go!

Do you need to start preparing party invitations?

Well we have a few ideas on which tutorials could give you a hand on designing the perfect invite!

Write your party invitation text on this Blood Stained Note Paper, and place a Zombie Eaten Bloody Hand for a real dramatic effect!

Or maybe you prefer less gore and would like a more mystic effect; you can get this by using a recognizable head shot, Frankenstein or a Witch, and turn it into a Smoke Portrait. To accompany it you can add with Hypnotic Typography all the details to your very cool Halloween party!

Let us know how you get on, and don’t be shy, share with us your creations!

Happy Creativity!

August is coming to an end, which means that many of us are back behind out desks recalling those happy days when relaxing was the only stress we had and eating, laughing and enjoying the sun was an obligation. Well do not despair, while many of us were out there enjoying the great weather we have had some very dedicated creative people send in their tutorials to Tutorial-Index.com.

We are highly impressed with the dedication of these great designers who share their work, tricks and ideas with all of us. Thank you! These are some of my favorites from the last couple of weeks.

When you were a kid did you have in your mind the perfect cartoon character, the perfect toy you would love to own? Well dig back into memory lane because with this tutorial you can model a 3D character. Its creation in a state of pure bliss let your wild childhood fantasies free!

And here are some ideas that will get you thinking… “just fooling around with some photographs” and it will end up with a joyous exclamation “Honey! Check out what I just created!” here are two tutorials that will leave your piers impressed.

Did you take the perfect photograph this summer? The perfect beach? The perfect sunset? The perfect family picture? Well wait no longer and learn how to convert a photograph into a realistic painting. It’s a great way to make that perfect photograph an unforgettable image.

And those of you who are sitting by the AC and wanting to cool off after a hot summer can also do it in photographs! You can create a frosted image from a photograph, the effect is amazing and really worth while playing around with.

Great tutorials with which to get your creativity flowing and make the end of summer a lot more fun.

I wish you enjoy these picks. Waiting to hear from your experiments and how your photographs turned out, don’t be shy and share with the rest of us.

Welcome back!

Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator have broadened artistic horizons by allowing anyone to create digital design, photographs, and art. Yet too often Photoshop is used for little more than digital files, to be stored and displayed in the digital realm. What a waste! The tools necessary for developing attractive images are now widely available.

The world may be increasingly digital, but the presence of art in our daily lives remains one of society’s greatest advantages. The public display of art engages the viewer in a way that a computer screen never will. For those who wish to take their artwork to the next step, the key is in hard copy development.

There are a variety of services that can provide the artist with an archival-quality piece, worthy of display or even sale. High-quality printers will work with you to develop a final production that accentuates your work while preparing it for exhibition and display in the real world. Printing your digital piece has a number of advantages. Keeping a hard copy can defend you from computer crashes. While digital is endlessly repeatable and unlimited in its reproduction, a hard copy work can be limited, whether in its print run or display. Creating demand for your art can be as simple as transforming it into a hard copy poster with a limited run. A poster printing service is far different from a download. Instead it is a company that will work with you to present your work in the highest-quality format, without the compression and distortion that so often comes with displaying artwork online.

Today we released a new module that removes tutorials from websites that went dead. It works similar to algorithm used by search engines. If within a few month period a website does not show a signs of life or displays generic junk search page its URL is flagged for removal from our database.

How many tutorials show up dead in the first 2 runs since our testing begin? To our surprise – 20%. Are they really dead? Yes. Before the module went live we were testing it for nearly a month. Reliability? 99.9%.

The module idea came after I got frustrated when looking for some Photoshop tutorial just to discover that half of the links that showed up on the search page were dead. As a result we assumed that most users have the same frustration when searching through our index.

So, now you can enjoy better experience with our website that has almost no dead links except those that went out of business for the last month or two.
Any comments?

Not a single hiccup. It took 3 hours to move the code and the database and 2 hours for DNS changes for North American routing servers. Unfortunately, we did not have resources to check how long it took for changes to reach Chinese servers but we assume they didn’t care anyway . Now everyone can post their website on the TopSites and it’s going to be ranked by how popular it is among the Internet folks. It’s not necessary any more to have our reciprocal banner in order to count inbound referrals. So get wild. You can find rules on the FAQ page. But we still require the site’s subject to be connected to tutorials and we do not allow tutorial indexes in there as it’s going to defeat the purpose of the idea.
We are still sitting on the old server, but that hopefully going to change as now we will redirect more resources in that direction. Some glitches and bugs may still pop up here and there, but we’ll try to fix them as fast as we can. If you come across some, let us know. We’ll greatly appreciate that. So, enjoy the site.

If you have noticed, we have changed the sidebar over to a faster alternative ajax. This was one of our alternatives when we first made our layout but because of the fact that the site has been gaining more visitors, speed is becoming more and more of a priority.

As a result of the speed, we have reduced some of the php code, and when the new version of ti comes, the site should be a bit faster as well as more efficient. We are cutting down on database use as well as continuously optimizing the pages for speed. In the next month or so the site should be moving onto a faster server with higher response times.

Also with the growth of our site comes more features ^^. We are currently jumbling a bunch of features that we believe may be important to us in the next version of our site. This new version may not come as of yet but, we are still in the early stages of beginning a new compilation for ti. You may see a couple of new pages spring up soon as well.

Lastly, about the forums, it is growing and what comes with growth is moderation. So yes, we are looking for moderators. Send us a message through our contact page.

Advertising Updated
Due to high demand, we have brought advertising back from the dead . It is reincarnated! But yes yes, stop by if you want to gain traffic or more notice to your site. Also, some of the information we have on the page itself is outdated and we will be updating that shortly.

Thanks!

Also:
Lately we have seen a huge increase in visitors and tutorial submission and we highly appreciate it. You shouldn’t have any problems connecting to the site either, as we had a couple weeks ago.

Layout Contest
The layout contest will be over Friday the 9th! Be sure to get your submission in because this is the definite cutoff for submissions for the new layout (this DOES NOT mean that we will use your layout even if you win, most likely we will)!

Updates Coming
I know there are a couple of problems with the member system’s cookies, and we will be putting a bit more effort into trying to figure out the problem. Also, we will be tweaking code a bit over the next week to speed the site up a bit, as well as making it more efficient.

Thanks!

This is definately one great step for Tutorial-index, our member system was released yesterday a little bit past midnight! There’s some extra features that come with signing up, here are a few:

Tutorial Commenting
Yes, you can comment on tutorial comments! This should be helpful for giving ideas, or more information, or your opninon on a tutorial. Rating for tutorials will be sync’d with tutorial commenting soon.

An Identity
You are now able to be recognized on tutorial-index and just like other sites, you can have a profile. We will put these features to real use soon, with new features coming soon.

Forums
Most of all, a place to commute and commune here. You can provide suggestions here, chill, or buy/sell/trade. Basically almost anything you can do a forum .

Also, a contest is coming up with good prizes for another project we are coming out with soon for tutorial-index. Stay Tuned!

Yep; we will be switching servers sometime between this week or next week, over to mediatemple. We were going to do this earlier however, weve been working on something new, as well as being in the process of optimizing and cleaning up the site . Our index is inching in towards 2K tutorials, possibly within the next 2 weeks; thanks to you guys!

Also…

We are in the final stages of finishing the member system, a couple of tweaks and bugs that need to be worked out, as well as a few more features needing to be implemented/added. Expect the member system to be out between now and February 1st!

Yes, I got tired of seeing the topsites not being updated for a WHOLE week! Bad logic coding on my part, and I’m pretty sure a lot of you will like it better this way. By having the topsites updated daily, it will give other websites in the topsites a chance to actually get in the top three. I’ve been doing some real checking on the sites that have been top 3 and they have been getting quite a few more hits than other sites not in the top 3. So this should help make the topsites a bit more equal.

Also, soon I’ll be adding a new page with a list of the top 20 tutorials, authors, and tags, and they’ll be able to be sorted by clicks, tutorials, etc. Should be a bit more helpful for the guys that don’t know how they stand within our index.

Lastly, we are working on a bigger project as we speak, and we are around always. We just may not seem it . Keep a good lookout, because we will have a nice Christmas present for the constant visitors out there!

Yes, turkey is great .

Thanks guys for the feedback on the switchover to the new layout. I received some contacts via email about some of the issues we were having and I’ve definitely taken out some time to fix some of them.

Fixed Pagination
We had been having this problem for weeks, I think it was overdue to squash the bug heh. I also took out the time to add install an openSearch guideline file on our site, so if you see your little search box where Google usually is in Firefox with a light blue glow around it, it means this site has a search that you haven’t installed! Hopefully, having us in your search will make some of your lives easier , so you don’t have to stumble through the site just to search it.

Lightened Server CPU Load
Was causing a few problems for some of our visitors and yes, we are still stuck on Bluehost but that will change soon. We found out during peak hours that our site was hogging the CPU down to dust and so I decided to centralize all of the files (something I probably should have done a while ago). The site loads a bit faster right now, but I still have the feeling the Bluehost server we are on is still unsatisfactory for our needs; so you’ll see some changes soon .

In the Process of Adding Programming Sections
Yes, we will be adding web programming tutorial sections soon enough. Were definately expanding our territory a bit more! Sections will include ASP, PHP, HTML, CGI, Perl, MySQL, and more . We havent even started on the desktop programs yet heh.

And we have two more great features to bring you but were keeping them on the “downlow” for now. Just wanted you to be excited . Stay Tuned .

Well guys, thanks for voting for my layout, greatly appreciated. We weren’t sure if this new layout should be called version 2 or not, and honestly haven’t decided yet heh. But it definately helps corner the Fall Phase project we have been working on throughout this season. This layout is a milestone in the Fall Phase project and overall, im happy with the layout and I hope it appeals to you as well.

We will be making quite a few fixes this week before Thanksgiving rolls around, and were working on a new project to drive more interest to ti. If you have any suggestions, be sure to drop a comment, and please tell us if you like this new installment .

We promised something new was coming “soon” and it is here now! A new tutorial display has hit the scene here at Tutorial-Index.com. This new tutorial display can be seen all throughout the website while browsing around. Here is a couple of more details about it:

Organization:
- Our old display was pretty messy and crowded, this new one is way more easy to read and understand what the tutorial really is and its description.

Tutorial Detailed View: Coming Soon!
- Coming very soon to Tutorial-Index will be detailed info of each tutorial. When released, you will be able to click on the “View More Info” icon and you will see a bit more info about that specific tutorial you clicked.

Author Pages: Coming Soon!
- Also coming soon, you will see a page of each tutorial author. Meaning that for example if you were to click on Video-Tutes’ author name it would take you to a page that will display all 152 of their tutorials plus some Statistics and more!

Tutorial Commenting
- That’s right, after all the other features are released, commenting will be made available for any tutorial you wish.

That’s all for now guys, but this is only the beginning of things to come around here, stay tuned with your eyes very open and check back daily for more updates soon!

Ok, we pretty much have for you whats gonna be in the update so have a look:

Newsblog
Redesign
Yup, finally that “thing” gets what it deserves, an update! We are adding categories to it, and you will not know who’s actually posting the newsblog. It will also be full CSS, for faster speeds, and possible, a more beautiful design!

Website
AJAX
A great new technology is finally dawning on tutorial-index. We will use ajax in various places but we will be sure to place it where you need it most. Im pretty sure the menu might be ajax-ized but im not exactly sure. But there is a lot more going on in the works that will depend upon AJAX.

CSS Redesign
Redesigning the site to CSS will most definately speed up the site a little more, but at the same time, will be a better alternative to frames, and definately is more stylish compared to frames. And no, the html will not be redesigned, but the actual design will be altered dramatically. Be ready . Maybe this will put us into a 2.0 Category Eh?

More Pages
1.We plan on adding a tutorial details page for a more detailed summary of a tutorial before you visit it. Commenting will be activated on these pages as well.
2.Author pages will also be administered for your use, with RSS and lots of stats and other goodies, telling you information about websites that submit to tutorial-index. This should be fairly interesting.
3.See Below.

Rating System Refocused
This one actually takes a little reading:
We are creating a fairly complex rating system to add to the design and creativity of tutorial-index, based on something I would rather not say at the moment, to keep it secretive :O. It will attribute to the new toptutorials/authors(3) page in the index. And believe me, this is something to definately keep your eye on. Im excited as well.

This update should be done in a couple of weeks, maybe even 3 but; it is definately worth the anticipation. We are currently receiving a surge in popularity as well as a great increase in the number of tutorials being submitted to tutorial-index. Keep it up. Thanks.

Yes, we have finally opened advertising. I know I said it would be available saturday and im am very sorry for that!

Well, anyway; the major thing that is coming to t-i is the FallPhase or the FPhase update. As you can see, we are working more than ever by adding more rich content and features for you viewing pleasure. There’s one problem with this though. Everything we have been doing just hasn’t been coming together in the way we expected. So we are adding many new things to the website fairly soon. And I mean it is HUGE. Larger than any update we’ve made so far, by a long shot.

I could explain it all out, but it might be too much to take in at the moment + I dont want to ruin the suprise. Just stay tuned, and you will see.

That’s right, more tutorials, over 150 I know of have been sitting on our
allowed list for the last few days. Also just so you know about what weve been doing in the last few days, check out this little list I composed:

-Submission Option List Fixed
Yes yes, we had some suggestions asking that the option list for subcategories be torn down and broken into smaller parts for easier distinction in finding category and subcategory, and yes, this has been completed. Ive tested it in Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, so I feel it should be safe for the rest of our incoming visitors on other browsers.

-Category Images In IE Fixed
Robert (I’m Alfredn) took the time to replace the background of the png images with a solid color simply because of IE’s problems with handling a transparent background from a PNG format. They look pretty seamless now, and probably did not change anything for our Mozilla Firefox users (including me).

-Improved Loading Time
Remember when our website was sluggish and awfully slow? So slow, you could go through your playlist and find your favorite song long? 6 seconds, was about our average a few days ago until the 15th of August (Last Post) we found out what was slowing our website down drastically; a text ad from RevenuePilot.

-Placed a Two-Hour Delay on New Tutorials Additions
This was done to give each and every tutorial a fair chance to gain some hits on the front page. So if you submit a tutorial from now on, it will be on the front page at least 2X15(Guaranteed)= 30 Hours, or 2 Days and 6 Hours. Not bad huh?

And no we have not forgotten about our earlier developments listed on our “What’s Ahead for T-I” blog. Take a look at whats going on:

-RSS Feeds
We’ve thought about it, and yes they will be coming soon, if we can catch good time they can hopefully be done by the end of the week!

-Rating System
We are still working on this, however, we have come upon more new ideas for a rating system that may be even more complex that before. Stay tuned, stay aware!

-Statistics
Most likely we will release a module in the coming weeks, but it will not be up to the standards I will like it to be. After this module, maybe in a few months something more in detail and in-depth will be lurking your way; perhaps earlier than that.

-Improved Browsing
We are working on browsing right now, probably in a day or two, you will be able to sort categories and search results, just the fact of making our backend a little more flexible.

And there you have it, pretty much a good roundup of what’s happening around here. Also, one more thing, if you are interested in advertising, a few people are at the moment, then we will be accepting applications on Saturday (August 26th), and there will be a paypal link on the bottom of the advertising page. If you have any more questions be sure to use the contact form on the contact page or contact us at admin@tutorial-index.com

Hello guys this is Robert here trying to give you all an update on what’s ahead in the near future for Tutorial-Index.com. First of all I would like to thank all of you who have visited regularly, it has been a fabulous 2 first days for T-I. We expect that to keep on going. But it is only possible if you guys contribute by submitting tutorials and visiting regularly. Ok now on to the updates I was talking about. Here are a few of the ones that will be going on in the next couple of days.

- RSS Feeds
That’s right, RSS Feeds are finally coming to T-I. Finally you will be able to get updates on tutorials and a lot of other stuff, expect that soon!

- Rating System
Our Rating system is going through a series of upgrades and will be changed very soon. Expect something more noticeable and easier to use.

- Statistics
Who doesn’t like statistics? T-I will be soon getting a statistics page where you will be able to see Live Stats.

- Improved Loading Time
Expect our website loading time to take a dip for the best! Our site will be loading a lot faster after some upgrades.

- Improved Browsing
Some of you have suggested we improve our browsing by making the stats sortable, and that’s exactly what we will be doing. Soon you will be able to sort your searches as you browse our categories.
